Snæfellsnes Peninsula

Snæfellsnes is a peninsula situated in western Iceland. Snæfellsjökull Volcano (Snæfellsglacier Volcano) is one of Snæfellsnes symbols and is a 1446 m high and is the highest mountain in the peninsula. The area surrounding Snæfellsjökull has been designated one of the four National Parks by the government of Iceland.

Local fishing villages and small towns on the northern shore of Snæfellsnes include Arnarstapi and Ólafsvík.

In this tour you will get to see Djúpalónssand which is a sandy beach and bay on foot of Snæfellsjökull in Iceland. It was once home to sixty fishing boats and one of the most prolific fishing villages on the Snæfellsnes peninsula but today the bay is uninhabited.
